- Monastery of Saint Minas - a Christian warrior from Egypt,
- the village of artisans Lefkara,
- Macheras stavropegic monastery,
- the tiny village of Fikardou,
- the Wax Museum,
- Shop Olive Oil.
The Convent of St. Minas (15th century) - a warrior and healer - is located in a picturesque mountain valley near the village of Vavla. Once upon a time there was a spring on the territory of the monastery, the water of which healed from many diseases. Today 17 nuns live in the monastery, I will tell you what they do here and about the history of the monastery.
Then we will find ourselves in the beautiful village of Lefkara. It is known for its craftsmen: the lacework of Lefkara residents is protected by UNESCO, and the silversmiths of this village create replicas of jewelry rented from museums in Cyprus. We will also see the Macheras Monastery, where the miraculous icon of the Most Holy Theotokos is located. This icon, where “The Mother of God is alone, without the Child, as if praying, with outstretched hands,” was written by the Apostle Luke.
We will also visit Fikardo, an open-air museum village. Only 6 people live in this village today! Narrow streets winding between houses built of adobe bricks, a tiny church, an old cemetery … This is the real Middle Ages!
In general, you will have a lot of impressions. And ahead of us is the road home with enchanting views.
