Program
- Behind the gorge is the village of Kazbegi, where the great Georgian writer Alexander Kazbegi was born. From here, a magnificent view of the Kazbeg peak covered with eternal snow opens, the height of which is 5047 meters.
- From the village of Kazbegi we will climb to the 14th century Tsminda Sameba (Holy Trinity) temple, a monumental structure unique to mountainous Georgia. After the temple we will climb the Cross Pass (height 2388 meters), the highest point of the Georgian Military Road.
- A mineral spring flows near the road, where you can drink "cold boiling water". From here you will see a group of extinct volcanoes of the high Kelsk plateau - Seven Brothers.
- And now we will begin to descend. Before you stretches the Gudaur lava plateau, which Lermontov in "A Hero of Our Time" called "Kayshaur Valley".
