The charming provincial town of Cesis was built in the shadow of the once most powerful castle of the Livonian Order - the Wenden fortress. Despite the terrible times, the castle has retained its grandeur. Next to the old castle there is a new one with a high tower, on which the flag of Latvia proudly flies. By the way, he comes from Cesis! Here the apple has nowhere to fall from the sights. Every house is a legend, every hill is history!
The Princess House, a monument to a well, a hunched-over lamplighter - the "eternal grandfather" of Cesis, black swans are not all the symbols of the city. The mysterious people of the Venda, the masters of the Livonian Order, John the Terrible, the glorious family of the Sivers - all of them are inscribed in the pages of the history of the city.
