The atmosphere of medieval towns The first stop of our route is the ancient capital of Austria Krems with its cobbled streets, picturesque medieval houses, churches and squares, from which you will have an incredible panorama of the city. Next you will find yourself in magic Durnsteinwhere the ruins of an ancient fortress will take you to the era of medieval intrigue. But the main pride of the town is its excellent apricot jams, liqueurs and schnapps, which you should definitely try in local shops! And the most impressive stop will undoubtedly be Benedictine monastery in Melk - one of the oldest in Europe. Here you will admire the expressive architecture and hear the curious history of the monastery, which was built with money from the ransom for the King of England - Richard the Lionheart
