And here is a herd of sheep, sheltered under the canopy of a cheese dairy - this is Mas faro, famous throughout Catalonia. The meeting is attended by an 87-year-old senora who was born and lived in this house all her life and still remembers the times when 15 children lived here. A huge house (massia) today is occupied by one family. Sometimes children come to the senora, but in general she has few assistants - everything is done by the technique.
Sheep and cows also know their stuff. Cheese from the Mas faro dairy is bought by the best Michelin restaurants, including El celler de can roca (2nd position in the Michelin rating in 2014 and 1st in 2013)! Senora will give you a taste of any cheese from her bins, only at the beginning she will ask if you like very matured or not very mature. Because she has cheeses that have been aged for 12 months! A small head of cheese costs about 10 euros, and it has not left anyone indifferent yet. Try it yourself!
Now we will go to the meat capital of the region - Camprodon. At Christmas, this is a real postcard town. And at any other time, garlands of natural sausages, balls of kumpyaks and Gogol's meat snouts delight the eye. It is a big myth that the Spaniards eat fish. They eat much more meat! Ears, tails, and nickels are also used.
If you want to try wild boar dishes, then let's stop by another Pyrenean village of Setkases. There is a great place there, serving wild boar roast straight from the oven. And this year they also bred all over the district. There is no doubt that this dish will be on the menu.
