Monuments of the ancient kremlin Outside the walls of the Novgorod Kremlin, we will talk about the formation and development of the city. You will learn how Detinets was rebuilt, hear about the architecture of its towers and how it was influenced by medieval Italian architecture
We will definitely visit Saint Sophia Cathedral, the oldest temple in Russia. You will understand what its value is, hear about its construction and the peculiarities of the Novgorodian style. Get acquainted with the bloodiest episodes of the reign of Ivan the Terrible - and find out where the dove that crowns the central dome came from.
We will see other buildings of the Kremlin: the Vladychny courtyard and the vicars' corps, the chime and the Belfry of the 15th century. We will rise to the battle course of the fortress, where the Streletsky garrison was serving, and admire the panorama of the old city.
