Volcanoes, ocean and colonial quarters You will explore the picturesque beaches, bays and eastern offshore bays of Orakei, Kokhimarama and Mission Bay. Walk along the crater of the extinct volcano Eden, which erupted 16 thousand years ago, and peer into the historic Parnell quarter with Victorian mansions. Auckland at a glance I will introduce you to the traditions, customs and culture of the local people and tell you about the first settlers - the Maori tribes.
