Orthodox churches and the Russian cemetery, villas and mansions of the aristocracy - I will show you what the city was like when the whole world of Moscow and St. Petersburg came here. You will hear about Russian writers, about an artist who became famous for her "intimate diary", about balls in the castle of a railway industrialist. Admire the cultural heritage of Nice - and also visit a confectionery factory or a family winery. Individual excursion for 1-4 people Duration 3 hours Children Without children How it goes On foot € 150 per excursion Price for 1-4 people, regardless of the number of participants
What awaits you
Temple architecture Many parts of Nice have retained the memory of the period when a colony of our compatriots grew up in the city - together we will go around them and talk about the Russian presence. On the castle hill you will see the grave of Alexander Herzen - “the father of the Russian revolution”, hear about his life and enjoy the view of the port and the bay. At the old Russian church you will learn how the Russian colony was born, which of the wealthiest families built their own villas. And in the Russian quarter of Nice we will visit the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, which has become one of the symbols of the resort
Russian subjects We'll take a look at a guesthouse rich in stories about famous Russian guests. Lenin and Gogol stayed here, and Chekhov wrote the play "Three Sisters". Next, we will go to the Gothic castle of Valrose, which belonged to Baron von Dervis, an industrialist from Russia. You will understand how he turned from a modest official into one of the "railway kings" of Russia. You will also see the house where the artist Maria Bashkirtseva, known throughout the world for her "intimate diary", lived - and hear interesting facts about the life of Russian aristocrats in Nice. We will also visit a confectionery factory, where you can taste delicious sweets and buy gifts for your loved ones
The tour can also be done by car. In this case, instead of a pastry shop, we will go to a family winery. You will learn the traditional ways and secrets of making French wine and taste the drink.
