✨ Favorite holiday in Belarusian Traditionally, in late December - early January in Belarus comes the time of "Kalyad", a national holiday that came from pre-Christian times. I will tell you how the Belarusians spent this time, and I will explain why this tradition is unique - in one of the regions of the country it was even included in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage! Together we will learn how to carol correctly, sing songs and tell fortunes about what the coming year has in store for us. You will also learn why Belarusians used to celebrate the New Year on September 1 and March 20, what played the role of a New Year tree for them, why they “baked a cat” and why children were afraid of the local Santa Claus
? New Year's decorations in Minsk Our route is the most beautiful places in the capital, which shine with festive lights. On the distinctive Freedom Square, you will see the Town Hall and lovely sculptures that tell about the history of the city. Then we will walk along the cozy Trinity Suburb - a piece of Minsk of the 18-19 centuries, along the avenue and Independence Square with pompous architecture of the Stalinist Empire style and mesmerizing illumination. And of course, you will visit the stately October Square with the country's main Christmas tree and a Christmas market.
