What awaits you
Immerse yourself in the most turbulent creative period of Michelangelo's life The fate of the famous Italian is complex and contradictory. I will help you understand its intricacies and get to know the multifaceted nature of the creator. I will tell you how he worked with the pontiffs and how many Popes changed during Michelangelo's life. Let me explain what his contemporaries called him and why he so often received unflattering epithets, in addition to many praises. You will explore the brightest pages of the artist's creative biography. You will understand how he simultaneously worked on the creation of tombs for members of the two most influential families of the Apennine Peninsula. And the leitmotif of our excursion will be scenes from the painting "Sin" by Andrei Konchalovsky: they will bare the vulnerable soul of Michelangelo and his vices
Secrets of immortal works The tour starts at the Academy of Fine Arts Gallery. It houses one of the main symbols of the city and Michelangelo's work - the original of the statue of David. Here you will also see the unfinished statues of the "Captives", originally intended for the tombstone of Pope Julius II. I will reveal all the secrets and exciting vicissitudes of the creation of these great masterpieces. After the Gallery, we will take a look at the façade of the palace, where Lorenzo the Magnificent received the fifteen-year-old genius, and at the end we will visit the Medici Shrine.
