What awaits you
History of local viticulture You will learn about the long history of winemaking on Serbian soil, dating back to the beginning of our era and the first ancient Roman vineyards. Let's talk about how, despite enormous obstacles, the tradition of cultivating the vine has been preserved. About the main wine-growing regions of Serbia and the place of viticulture in the lives of their inhabitants
Features of Serbian wines Serbia is located at the same latitude as the world famous French and Italian wine regions. But the local climate and soil have their own characteristics, thanks to which the famous Riesling, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot acquire unique notes. You will also discover such authentic varieties as Smederevka - a kind of local risling; Kadarka and Prokupats are rich red wines. We will also not ignore tamyaniku - a pleasant aromatic wine on the border of dry-semi-dry
Illustrious Bermet Serbs prefer dry or semi-dry. But there is one dessert wine that was served even in royal courts and was honored to be chosen for a gourmet meal on the Titanic. At the wineries you will taste the famous Sremsko-Karlovac bermet - sweet, but not cloying and very aromatic, it does not leave indifferent even those who recognize exclusively dry wines
Wineries in Sremski Karlovci You will visit one of the wine-growing regions of Serbia, at the foot of Fruska Gora, where half of the inhabitants have their own wine cellars. In two cozy private farms you will taste white, rose and red, as well as the famous bermet dessert wine. And you will spend time in the warm company of people who warmly welcome guests and are happy to talk about their hobbies in life
Alternative program in Belgrade (short) Instead of a trip to the wineries, we can organize a wine tasting in one of the wine cellars in a restaurant complex near the center of Belgrade. You will get acquainted with wines that are produced from their own harvest, grown on the slopes of the Sumadin wine region, or Serbian Tuscany. And you will discover a place where culture, tradition and new technologies combine to achieve a common goal - the pleasure of creating excellent wines.
