The Jewish Quarter of Amsterdam is a saga about a dialogue between two nations, two cultures. And in the Anne Frank Museum we will recall the terrible pages of world history. West Jerusalem You will discover the centuries-old history of the Jewish community of Amsterdam, filled with amazing events and personalities. You will see the Great Synagogue of the 17th century, founded by Portuguese refugees, and the Jewish Historical Museum, which contains unique relics. We will talk about the ancient guilds and trading rows that were once located in this part of the city, and how the local community influenced the development of the country's economy. And also remember the large-scale strike in 1941 at the Docker monument
Anne Frank's Diary Particularly noteworthy is the fate of Anne Frank, a young Jewish woman whose diary, published after the Second World War, made the hearts of readers around the world tremble with horror. Here, on the Prinsengracht Canal, is the house that served as a refuge for the Frank family during the German occupation. You will visit the reconstructed rooms and see the closet that closed the entrance to the "Vault", and the original of the girl's diary. The exposition of the museum will tell about the fascist genocide in the Netherlands, which left an indelible mark on the history of Jodenbürth.
