For those who like to "climb the mountains" and want to see the real Crimean peninsula, I suggest to follow the route of Roman legionnaires. This is the path from the South Coast Highway to the Baydar Valley - along the boulders of the Devil's Staircase and along the Bose River. You will conquer a mountain path, look into a cave, admire the views and relax with lunch in the silence of the forest. Group excursion Duration 9 hours Group size up to 12 people Children Possible with children How it goes On foot 650 rubles per person
What awaits you
A cave that was only opened in 2008 Our first target is the still little-known Belyansky Cave. The pioneer climbers discovered it by chance and were impressed by the size of the cave hall: the length is 56 m, the height of the vault is up to 20 m. In 2012, the cave was examined by professional speleologists - it is safe and interesting to visit it today
Devil's Staircase - Mountain Pass Trail We will begin our ascent along Shaitan-Merdven, or the famous Devil's Staircase. In ancient times, there was a trade route connecting the coast with the center of Crimea. Climbing the stairs is not easy, because the height of its "steps" reaches 1.5 meters. They will lead us to the former guard post "Merdven Isar", and then to the most important Roman road of Crimea - the Kalendarsky trail, or Via Militaris. Paved with huge boulders, it is still well preserved
The beauty of the Baydar Valley Having overcome the stone steps of the Devil's Staircase, we will stop at the edge of the Karadag forest for a well-deserved rest and lunch, which the guide will cook for you on the fire. The final part of the path will pass along the Kapurkay trail, past the rapids of the Bose River. In the dry season, there is no water in the river, and we will easily go to the slopes of Mount Kalenda, from where the wonderful landscapes of the Baydar Valley open up. We will only have to go down to the village, where we will take a bus and say goodbye to our new hikes!
