Old Russian estates You will go to two former estates in the Plyussky district, 100 km from Pskov. Today Lyubensk and Vechasha is the memorial museum of Nikolai Andreevich Rimsky-Korsakov, the birthplace of musical fairy tales and just an atmospheric place
- Vechasha - a manor, which the composer's family rented as a dacha for six years. The exposition is devoted to the theme of nature in the work of Rimsky-Korsakov: it was in Vechash, surrounded by marvelous landscapes, that it was so easy for him to work. You will learn about the operas written here; take a look at the reconstructed composer's study; you will see musical autographs, sketches of scenery, costumes from the Mariinsky Theater and photographs. And also get acquainted with the folk art of the Plyussky region.
- Lyubensk: Nikolai Andreevich has already wandered into this estate for himself on his beloved Pskov land. Unfortunately, the composer died two years later, but his children and their families continued to improve the estate. You will see the restored main house, stable and poultry house, admire the lake from the mezzanine windows and feel how carefully the memory of the great Rimsky-Korsakov is preserved here.
