Along the way, you will get acquainted with the history of road construction in the Angara region: among them, the Trans-Siberian railway is unsurpassed in complexity. There will also be stories about the nature and rare plants of the national park. And we will definitely touch on geology - after all, our journey takes place at the foot of the most ancient mountains of the planet
Steel belt of Russia Having reached the station "Dark Pad", we will descend from the peaks of the Olkhinsky plateau to the monuments of the Circum-Baikal railway (4 km). Here you will find a complex of miraculously survived Angasol viaducts and galleries… If the weather is right, we will swim in Lake Baikal, for those who wish in the summer, you can flood the bathhouse right on the shore. We will also have a picnic in an organized area
Then we walk to Bay Persistent Guba (1.5 km): You will explore the viaduct and the two tunnels and learn about their technical features. The staff of the mountaineering camp like to train here - if you wish, you can hold a master class for you.
And if the strength remains, we will go to Cape Khabartuy (5 km one way, 3-4 hours extra). 4 galleries, 3 tunnels, 7 retaining walls and 6 viaducts - this is the most difficult complex of tunnels on the Circum-Baikal Railway. You will see what the ingenuity and imagination of the builders is capable of, and by the example of this ensemble, you will realize the architectural diversity of the Circum-Baikal Railway.
And then through a secret niche you will go to Baikal and one of the largest bird colonies - a place where birds gather. You will observe their habits from a close distance and look at the world's largest cormorants.
