We have prepared two rich routes through key places in Istanbul. They alternate daily, both starting on the historical Sultanahmet peninsula, but leading to completely different areas of the city.
The red route: top spots and the distant past of Istanbul In a couple of hours of this walk, you will unravel the rich chronicles of the city. First of all, immerse yourself in the times of Byzantium and the Christian period when Istanbul was called Constantinople. See the columns at the Hippodrome Square, appreciate the grandeur of Hagia Sophia, and see the Church of St. Irene
Following the story, hear how the city was conquered by the Ottoman Turks and how the new Empire was built. And the background will be the Topkapi Sultans' Palace, the airy Blue Mosque and the Suleymaniye Mosque - next to it you will also admire the marvelous views of the Bosphorus Strait and the Golden Horn Bay.
In addition, this route will pass through the Grand Bazaar, where you will experience the spirit of the true East, and past the Istanbul University.
Blue Route: New Istanbul in vibrant Galata and Beyoglu districts This excursion will take you across the Galata Bridge to the neighborhoods with architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries, to the hilly streets with cafes and shops. The cultural districts of Beyoglu and Galata will take you to the era of beautiful ladies and gallant gentlemen, introduce you to modern Istanbul. You will see the symbol of the city, the Galata Tower, the Orient Express train station and the Catholic Cathedral of St. Anthony. Peer into the passages and hear about the legacy of the White Emigration in Istanbul
You will also find a ride on the underground 150-year-old funicular and a wine cellar where you can taste Turkish wine.
